There is no better feeling that getting the request from a former bride to do 1-year anniversary portraits. First, it’s a compliment. I mean, I’m 3 states away and while I’m in Florida for a wedding I get to see Tara & Jacob a full year after I photographed their wedding.  I love it!

Second, it’s nice to see things are still going strong for them, especially in a world where marriages end so quickly.  So congratulations, Tara & Jacob!

Third, I sure like visiting with my clients…but I hate calling them that because I have become quite friendly with them. All of them. So, I’ll say I sure like visiting with my friends-that-I-also-photograph.

One thing that is sad about moving is leaving behind the people that you’ve come to rely on…such as the great assistant I had in Jacksonville (Jessica Wall) and the fabulous second shooter I had (Yuliya Callahan – even though she’s still helping me this fall in FL).  I have, however, found a wonderful person to help me here in NC!

Meet Mollie!

She’ll be helping me all summer until she goes to college in the fall.

I am so excited to have my home studio finally set up.  We were blessed to have found this house when we moved to North Carolina.  It has the basement space I needed to get this set up and I’m so thrilled!

Right now I’m doing some test shoots to get comfortable with the setup.
