On December 16th and 17th, Santa came to Spruce Pine and spent the afternoon on both days at Any Christmas to visit with kids and have photos taken!

We set up our photo booth at The Pizza Shop for their Re-Grand Opening night…here’s a few from that evening:

I had a wonderful time (after I discovered there are two roads of the same name in Avery County) doing family portraits for this family in celebration of an 80th birthday.

I had another fantastic engagement session while we still had some color on the trees.  Miranda & Curtis are an adorable couple…who laugh a lot.  I love it.  Really, really love it.  Here’s some of my favorites from their session…

Our first photo from the session also became one of my favorites.  And I can’t decide which I like better…the color version, or the chocolate version.

Aren’t they just perfect together?  This is another one of my favorites.

And, I know, I have a lot of favorites.  But I love this one too.

I had so much fun photographing Rachel & Scott’s engagement session!  They had an idea in mind and it was fantastic!  Check out this setup they brought along:

I was super excited about their mock picnic engagement session…it was perfect!

And, Scott can really play the guitar.  And he was really serenading Rachel.

I love fall. And to get an engagement session done during the fall with these beautiful leaves…well, that’s just a treat for me.  This one is one of my favorites – because of the leaves in the air.

It’s always nice when a former bride calls me to do photos again later.  Earlier this year I had the pleasure of photographing a 1-year anniversary (a year after I photographed their wedding).  This time I got to do a maternity session for one of my favorite brides, Holly.  Her engagement session was fun…her wedding was beautiful…and her maternity session was FABULOUS!  Now, I would have linked to her engagement session as well…but I just discovered as I write this that I failed to even post her engagement session.  That’s what happens when I have a lot going on…I forget to post things on this blog.  So, here’s a few from her engagement session:

There is no better feeling that getting the request from a former bride to do 1-year anniversary portraits. First, it’s a compliment. I mean, I’m 3 states away and while I’m in Florida for a wedding I get to see Tara & Jacob a full year after I photographed their wedding.  I love it!

Second, it’s nice to see things are still going strong for them, especially in a world where marriages end so quickly.  So congratulations, Tara & Jacob!

Third, I sure like visiting with my clients…but I hate calling them that because I have become quite friendly with them. All of them. So, I’ll say I sure like visiting with my friends-that-I-also-photograph.

Tara is just so gorgeous!  So easy to photograph!

And I love the way Jacob was looking at Tara in this one.

[Behind the scenes...there was some initial discomfort with having chicks placed on Jacob.  It was pretty funny.]

But then he relaxed and all was well.
