Carrie & Brian’s Gambill Estate Wedding

January 8, 2020

Carrie and Brian had an absolutely beautiful Winter wedding at Gambill Estate. If EVERY bridal preparation room could look like theirs, it would be a dream.

The weather was beautiful (I don’t mind the dramatic overcast skies, periodic drizzle, and the cool temperature) and the day went perfectly.

Brian is in the Marines, and they found their relationship had only gotten stronger with distance after he was deployed to Afghanistan.

“Through the distance we found out that we loved each other and didn’t want to live without each other. Brian ended up having to go to be stationed at different places keeping us separated, and each time it got harder and harder to say good bye. Before he left his last station, we decided we didn’t want to be apart anymore.”

The proposal:

“I took her to what I thought was a Christmas lights exhibit. Turns out it was just a botanical garden with lights. To make it even better, it was raining, but I persevered. After walking around for about 30 minutes we came across a gazebo to look at the map, which was just a excuse for me to pop the question. As I was stalling for the right moment, I look at the map and notice that the gazebo we are in is called “The Wedding Gazebo.” Then I blurt out, “Oh look, it’s called The Wedding Gazebo! I didn’t do this on purpose.” Like the dummy I am. She was perplexed by my comment but still unaware of my plans. After that we sat down and as she looked around at all the lights, I pulled the ring out and asked her to marry me.”

I probably say this with every wedding – but only because it’s true! It was an absolute pleasure photographing Carrie and Brian’s wedding and spending the day with all their friends and family! What a wonderful group of people and SO MUCH FUN! I hope they have many, many years of happiness ahead of them.
