I had the incredible honor of photographing Sara & Charlie’s beautiful castle wedding at Smithmore Castle on May 18th. However, I was not the original photographer. I received a call (while having a lazy Saturday in my pajamas reading a book with one of my kids) asking if I could photograph this wedding and be there in a few hours because the photographer did not show up and had, instead, written the wrong date for the wedding and was now unable to make it.
Of course I said yes – even though I knew I would really have to hurry to be ready (especially since it’s about an hour drive from my house) and get there on time.
As I’m on the phone, I’m plugging in batteries and getting everything ready quickly so I could be there as soon as possible.
Having already had the opportunity to photograph some bridal portraits at Smithmore Castle, I was thrilled to photograph a wedding there. And it was just as beautiful as I knew it would be.
Sara really did an exceptional job in planning the decor for her wedding day.
There was a small break in the rain – just enough for the ceremony AND some photos afterwards.
Then the rain started again – but they didn’t mind!
And an absolutely gorgeous cake from Petite Sweets in Johnson City.
